Creating a safe and healthy working environment should be a top priority with any laser system. Kern's systems come standard with many safety features to help keep everyone working with and around the laser system out of harm's way.

CDRH Certifed Laser Systems

All of Kern's laser systems meet the performance standards required by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health. All updates on the CDRH requirements are tracked to ensure our equipment is updated as neccesary.

UL Electrical Panel

UL-approved eletrical panels are placed on each new laser system that leaves our facility. This will ensure that there are no problems when it comes time for an electrician to wire the laser system.

CE Compliant

The HSE, Z12 and DHS line of laser systems meet CE safety requirements for sales into the European Union.

Emergency Stop Switches

Located on up to four corners of our systems, emergency stop switches can be pressed to halt the motion of the table and turn off the laser beam.

Remote Interlock

The gantry lid's of our HSE systems are equipped with a tamper proof interlock so the laser will not fire when the lid is opened.

Green Safety Light

A green safety light will blink when the laser system is in operation. The blinking light warns everyone around or near the laser system that they should be wearing laser safety glasses.

Kern Laser Safety Kit

Every Kern Laser System comes complete with a Laser Safety Starter Kit. Inside you will find a Class 4 Radiation Laser Sign. It is essential that this sign is posted on all doors leading into the laser production area. Additional signs can be ordered. A video and pamphlet on basic laser safety should be reviewed by everyone who will be working with or around the laser system. Also included are two pairs of certified laser safety eye glasses.
