Aluminum Cutting
Cutting of more reflective metals like aluminum was once impossible for smaller sealed CO2 lasers. Kern is proud to introduce its new 400 watt laser system that is capable of cutting certain aluminum alloys up to .100". Pictured below is .050" aluminum rectangles and .100" 5052 alloy aluminum both cut with a HSE 400 watt laser system. Feel free to send us your aluminum sheet and we will determine what thickness the 400 watt will cut.

Aluminum Marking
Marking aluminum with a a Kern Laser System is another great application possible. Cermark marking spray is used to leave a dark mark on this reflective metal. Lower series aluminum alloys seem to mark a darker black than higher series alloys which typically mark a charcoal color. Cermark spray will not be needed when etching on anodized aluminum.
